Georgie and Mandy aren’t married yet, but we’re pretty sure this makes Mandy an honorary Cooper.
As Young Sheldon begins production on its seventh and final season, a new behind-the-scenes photo reveals that Emily Osment (aka Georgie’s fiancée Mandy) was on hand to film the Big Bang Theory prequel’s new main title sequence — and TVLine can confirm that she’ll be in it.
“Whole gang’s here,” series star Raegan Revord notes in the caption of her latest Instagram post. Pictured from left to right are executive producer Steve Holland, Montana Jordan (Georgie), Osment, Lance Barber (George Sr.), Iain Armitage (Sheldon), co-creator/EP Steve Molaro, Zoe Perry (Marry), Revord (Missy), Annie Potts (Meemaw), producer Ansley Rix and director Tim Marx.
Armitage also marked the start of production on the final 14 episodes, which got underway Tuesday.
“Back at work!” he wrote. “After such a long time away, it was exciting to start work yesterday on Season 7! It’s our final season and everyone feels this mix of emotions. We are excited to be reunited, proud and grateful of the work we’ve gotten to do, and full of awareness that these sweet times will end. Right now, though, there is work to do!”
Osment made her Young Sheldon debut in Season 5. Before long, Mandy was pregnant with Georgie’s baby.
The Young & Hungry vet was soon promoted to series regular — and midway through Season 6, Mandy gave birth to adorable baby Connie (aka “CeeCee”).
In the May 18 finale, Mandy proposed to 18-year-old Georgie, who in turn presented his bride-to-be with an engagement ring. (In Season 1 of the Big Bang spinoff, our narrator informed us that Georgie gets married at 19.)
This will mark the fourth iteration of Young Sheldon‘s main title sequence. Armitage flew solo in the opening credits for Seasons 1 and 2. He was then joined by the rest of the Cooper clan in Season 3 — an update that reflected the series’ evolution into a true ensemble comedy.
The most recent refresh came in Season 5, and showed just how much Armitage, Revord and Jordan had grown in such a short period of time.
Young Sheldon‘s farewell run kicks off Thursday, Feb. 15 at 8/7c on CBS. In the interim, scroll down to see the evolution of spinoff’s opening credits, then hit the comments and tell us if you’re pleased to see Osment being added to the mix.
