Virgin River Season 8 release date, filming and production update md14

Netflix is already laying the groundwork for Virgin River Season 8, even before Season 7 premieres on March 12, 2026. According to production updates, filming for the eighth season is scheduled to begin on April 22, 2026, and will run through August 10, 2026 — a substantial 110-day shoot. Production will once again take place in British Columbia, with Vancouver, Squamish, and Burnaby serving as the primary filming locations that double for the show’s fictional Northern California town.

Patrick S. Smith returns as showrunner and executive producer, joined by longtime executive producers including Roma Roth, Erin Cardillo, and Mary Page Keller. While Netflix has not officially confirmed a release date, the extended filming schedule strongly suggests that Season 8 will debut in early 2027. With Virgin River now one of Netflix’s longest-running English-language dramas, expectations are high for another emotionally driven chapter.
