I just have to say that I can see where the writers were going with this, but executed it horribly. From what I can see, the “good” doctor, Shaun, has terrible bedside manner and constantly commits malpractice. Like I remember a scene where he literally contaminates a sterile setting and storms out of the surgery room, ABANDONING THE PATIENT WHO IS OPEN ON THE TABLE while the other people in the room follow him and try to comfort him as if he’s a kid. He just constantly gets away with things because everyone uses his autism as an excuse. I mean seriously how does he not get sued or even get into med school in the first place? I also hate how everyone constantly turns to him as if they weren’t experienced professionals themselves like what???

And what bothers me the most is that a lot of neurotypicals like this show because they think this is what autism is. Seriously, he’s constantly being babied around and is just overall incompetent, but then iT’S OkAy CUz hE’s AuTiSTiC. I absolutely hate everything he does, like his speech and gestures, it feels so forced to the point where it’s painful, because obviously he is written and played by neurotypicals. Like i honestly think it’s downright degrading. I mean seriously, who on earth thought this was a good idea?
