Daniela Ruah Reunites With Her ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ TV Daughter for Chilling New Thriller
Daniela Ruah is re-teaming with a familiar face from NCIS: Los Angeles — and this time, the stakes are far darker. The longtime CBS star will reunite with Natalia del Riego, who memorably played her on-screen daughter, in the upcoming feature film …And Then She Was Gone.
Based on Karen McQuestion’s novel The Moonlight Child, the thriller centers on Niki, a 19-year-old former foster child adjusting to life in the home of Sharon Lemke. When the pair become intrigued by a mysterious girl living next door, their curiosity leads them down a disturbing path that uncovers a haunting truth.
Ruah will star and executive-produce the film, working from a script by Justin Kohlas, a former NCIS: Los Angeles writer she collaborated with for over a decade. The project will be directed by veteran TV helmer Tawnia McKiernan (Criminal Minds, The Walking Dead, NCIS), with production slated to begin in fall 2026 under the Two Independent Eyes banner.
Following her 14-year run as Kensi Blye, Ruah has expanded her career behind the camera through her company Merkaba Films and recently starred in HBO Max’s Portuguese-language series O Grito. Del Riego, meanwhile, continues her rise after roles in Netflix’s The Abandons and SXSW standout Hail Mary.
