After nearly 14 years on the air, NCIS: Los Angeles is officially coming to an end. CBS has confirmed that the long-running NCIS spinoff will conclude with its currently airing Season 14, with the series finale set to air on May 14. First premiering in 2009, the show expanded the NCIS universe beyond Washington, D.C., following Special Agent G. Callen and the Los Angeles Office of Special Projects as they tackled high-stakes cases tied to the U.S. military.
CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach praised the series’ longevity and global success, calling the cast and crew “a joy to watch” and promising a proper sendoff for both the team and its loyal fans.
The cancellation comes during a milestone era for the franchise, which recently celebrated a major crossover between NCIS, NCIS: LA, and NCIS: Hawai‘i ahead of the franchise’s 20th anniversary. While fans may be disappointed, NCIS: Los Angeles exits on a high note, having honored its legacy with returning characters, ambitious storytelling, and a final season designed to celebrate everything that made the series special.
