JAG Reboot Talk Resurfaces With NCIS & NCIS: LA Ties md14

The long-running military legal drama JAG may not be finished after all. According to series star David James Elliott, a reboot or revival of the influential show remains a possibility — two decades after it ended in 2005. Premiering in 1995, JAG ran for 10 seasons and more than 220 episodes, later spawning the hugely successful NCIS franchise.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Elliott noted that creator Don Bellisario is still alive and active, suggesting the door isn’t entirely closed. Elliott said he would be open to returning, though he acknowledged that most reboots tend to favor new casts. Still, interest from an original lead is often a promising sign.

With NCIS entering its 23rd season and Bellisario having previously revived Quantum Leap, a modern JAG update isn’t unthinkable. However, nothing official is in development, and any revival would need Bellisario’s full creative commitment — and a story worthy of the show’s legal and military legacy.
