A new The Big Bang Theory spinoff is officially on the way — and fans have plenty of opinions. HBO Max has greenlit Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, starring Kevin Sussman reprising his role as comic book store owner Stuart Bloom.
The announcement, shared on the show’s official Instagram, marks the latest expansion of the Big Bang Theory universe, following Young Sheldon and Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. According to Variety, the series centers on Stuart accidentally triggering a multiverse disaster after breaking a device created by Sheldon and Leonard. He’s joined by familiar faces, including Denise, Bert, and Barry Kripke, as they encounter alternate-universe versions of beloved characters.
Fans quickly flooded social media with excitement, praising the unexpected focus on Stuart. Co-creator Chuck Lorre described the project as a bold, “out of the comfort zone” twist — exactly the kind of idea the original characters would debate endlessly.
