Actress Ebonée Noel of the “FBI” series has passed away suddenly at the age of 35 md20

Coming from a particularly grueling FBI season 7 finale, the new season of the New York-based procedural started with a mix of ups and downs. After a lengthy summer break, the opening salvo confirmed Isobel’s survival from her near-death experience, but also saw the death of Dani Rhodes. As the wait for FBI season 8, part 2 continues, a new CBS update hints at the New York field office losing another core member of the squad.

Scola & Eva Are Confirmed To Butt Heads In FBI Season 8, Part 2

Ahead of the release of new episodes, it is confirmed that a conflict between Scola and his new partner, Eva Ramos is brewing. Juliana Aidén Martinez revealed (via TVInsider) that people would “see kind of chips, little cracks, places that need healing in our partnership. I think we’re going to really test our partnership in a really exciting way.” She emphasizes that “people have to prove that they are trustworthy,” referring to Eva’s past with Forefront.

Meanwhile, John Boyd adds that “Scola cares about his new partner more than his new partner knows. That’s what we love about him is he’s a little tough around the edges, but would do anything for her, like a real New Yorker. But yeah, I’m excited to explore that. It’s going to be great. Juliana’s done great coming in, and it’ll be fun to get to play it.”

For context, Scola knows about Eva’s ties to Forefront — something that was established in FBI season 8, episode 1. The pair seemed to have to move on from it, so it’s interesting that the show might be revisiting it as the source of tension between them. Considering what the terrorist group subjected the New York field office to, it’s understandable that he will be dubious about Eva and her connection to them.

It’s no secret that Scola has had multiple partners since Tiffany Kane left in 2024. FBI tried several new agents as his new tandem, but all of them eventually failed, primarily because of their differences. If Scola and Eva aren’t able to iron out this upcoming conflict, especially since it sounds like it involves trust, then the partnership will have to be dissolved, resulting in her departure from the team.

Why FBI Desperately Needs Scola & Eva’s Partnership To Work In Season 8

At this point in the show, it’s more important to see Scola and Eva’s partnership succeeding. Tiffany’s departure left a massive hole in the FBI ensemble and, frankly, it would be impossible to find someone that will be a 100% replacement for the character. Thus far, however, Scola and Eva’s pairing has been effective. There’s really no reason to split them up — unless, of course, her history with Forefront becomes a bigger issue.

In any case, FBI will be better if they stick to the ongoing partnership. Scola has gone through so many partners in the last year that he and the series, in general, will benefit from some stability. It will also allow the project to tackle other storylines instead of being perpetually stuck looking for a fourth field agent. For what it’s worth, Eva has been a compelling addition to the series.
