Eddie Murphy had a relatable reaction to the “Golden Bachelor” breakup.
The legendary comedian, 63, said he’s he’s “ashamed to say” he watched the reality series and was pissed when he learned that Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist split after three months of marriage.
“Last year, I watched all of ‘The Golden Bachelor.’ You know they broke up?” Murphy said in an interview with the New York Times published Saturday.
“What kind of s–t is that?” he continued. “Three months later. I watched that s–t, I was like, ‘This is so nice, they found love in the second part of they life. This is a nice show. Bravo!’ “
“Then I find out [they] motherf–king broke up three months later,” Murphy added. “The same old s–t.”
The former couple fell in love on the inaugural season of “The Golden Bachelor” that aired last year.
Turner, 72, proposed to Nist, 70, over runner-up Leslie Fhima in Costa Rica on the finale.
The two got married in an ABC-televised ceremony on January 4.
At the time, Turner, who lives in Indiana, and Nist, who lives in New Jersey, told ET that they planned to move after tying the knot on live TV.
“On the first date, he spoke to me about possibly moving to the Charleston area. I said, ‘Well, wow.’ I have a son who lives in South Carolina. I said, ‘That would work,’” Nist said. “It wasn’t until the Fantasy Suite that the conversation came back to that and we realized South Carolina is probably where we’re going.”
However, the pair shocked the world when they announced on April 12 they were getting divorced after three months of marriage.
They said on “Good Morning America” that they couldn’t agree on where to live together.
“We just feel like it’s best for the happiness of each of us to live apart,” Turner said. “I still love this person. There’s no doubt in my mind.”
He added: “Theresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations … and looked closely to our living situations.”
Nist said they “looked at home after home, but we never got to the point where we made that decision.”
She addressed the split again days later on social media and called the reality show “one of the most incredible experiences of my life, something I never expected to happen at this point in my life and I truly thought it was going to last forever.”
