Michael Weatherly is ready to finally share the screen with his niece, Virgin River star Alexandra Breckenridge — but he’s not eyeing a crossover in her Netflix hit just yet.
Speaking exclusively to Us Weekly while promoting NCIS: Tony & Ziva, Weatherly, 57, praised Breckenridge, 43, calling her “an amazing human and niece,” and made it clear he’d jump at the chance to collaborate. The only catch? He’s hoping for something entirely new.
While Breckenridge has made her mark in darker genres like American Horror Story, The Walking Dead, and True Blood, Weatherly jokingly ruled out horror. Instead, he floated a different idea: sci-fi. “We’ll do sci-fi and I’ll go to space,” he said.
For now, Weatherly is focused on his return to the NCIS universe alongside Cote de Pablo in the Paramount+ spinoff, which follows Tony and Ziva on the run across Europe. As for working with his famous niece, he’s leaving it up to fate — but fans of Virgin River and NCIS alike may want to keep their fingers crossed.
