Theresa Nist celebrated finalizing her divorce from fellow The Golden Bachelor star Gerry Turner by going out with Leslie Fhima, who was also a contestant vying for Turner’s affections on the show.
Nist traveled to Minnesota to spend the night out with Fhima after a judge signed off on dissolving her marriage to Turner on Thursday.
She shared a selfie with Fhima on Instagram Stories with the caption: “Divorce is final!”
Fhima, who was the runner-up to Nist on the inaugural season of the senior-citizen dating show, had expressed support for Nist after she and Turner announced their split on Good Morning America in April, just three months after their televised wedding.
“Despite the women both falling in love with Gerry Turner on ‘The Golden Bachelor,’ Theresa Nist and Leslie Fhima stayed friends after meeting on the reality show,” a report said.
In an Instagram post by Nist showing the duo enjoying drinks, the caption read:
“Made my way all the way to Minnesota to visit my dear friend, the lovely Leslie!”
“So happy you’re here and so is Minneapolis!!,” Fhima responded in the comments.
“That’s awesome that y’all can be friends and laugh and have a good time together and you don’t need a man to define who you are,” one commenter noted.
“The best part of Golden Bachelorette was seeing all the contestants bonding and becoming best friends,” another added.
Fhima also posted about the celebratory night out on her Instagram Stories.
Nist and Turner, who married in January, cited the distance between their home states of New Jersey and Indiana as a challenge in their relationship.
Some reports claimed Turner never intended to leave Indiana near his family.
The Golden Bachelor officiant Susan Noles defended Turner, saying Nist chose not to relocate for her job.
