Fans of the NCIS universe will have to wait a little longer for new episodes in 2026. NCIS, NCIS: Origins, and NCIS: Sydney, originally scheduled to return on February 24, have now been pushed back to Tuesday, March 3.
The reason is a familiar one in broadcast television: the 2026 State of the Union Address. President Donald Trump’s primetime speech to Congress will air on February 24 at 9 p.m. ET, prompting CBS to reshuffle its schedule and delay all three NCIS series.
As a result, the shows will have been off the air since early December, extending an already long midseason hiatus. While the postponement is only a week, the extended break has sparked some concern among fans about ratings momentum and renewal prospects—especially as networks closely watch audience retention after long pauses.
