Virgin River is officially back — but not without rewriting its own history.
Netflix has confirmed that Season 7 of the long-running romantic drama will premiere on March 12, 2026, ending the show’s streak of releasing a new season every year since its 2019 debut. After skipping all of 2025, the announcement marks a rare break in consistency for one of Netflix’s most reliable hits.
The news arrived as part of Netflix’s 2026 preview and follows Season 6’s chart-topping return in December 2024. New episodes will continue Mel and Jack’s story, but the biggest mystery heading into Season 7 centers on Charmaine, whose unexplained disappearance left her fate chillingly unclear.
Season 7 will also introduce fresh faces. The Vampire Diaries alum Sara Canning joins as a former cop turned medical board investigator, while Riverdale star Cody Kearsley appears as a foster teen searching for his missing sister. Most of the core cast will return, though Mark Ghanimé will not continue as a series regular.
