Grey’s Anatomy season 22 is finally back after its mid-season hiatus – and fans don’t have long to wait to see the drama continue.
The first instalment of the season saw Dr Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington) face a life-threatening health crisis, following the dramatic death of Dr Monica Beltran (Natalie Morales).
With Dr Wilson left struggling with complications from her twin pregnancy at the end of the last episode, viewers are eager to see the cliffhanger resolved and see which cast members will return.

For UK viewers, it’s good news – Grey’s Anatomy season 22 will return from its hiatus with episode 8, Heavy On Me, on Friday 16th January 2026 on Disney +.
This will be the date following the US release on ABC and Hulu.
How many episodes of season 22 are there?
There is a total of 18 episodes in season 22. Given that the first six episodes have packed in so much already, we can expect a whole lot more drama to come!
