Broadway is about to get a wave of pop-culture chaos as The Big Bang Theory alum Jim Parsons heads back to the stage in the musical comedy sensation Titanique. Producers have confirmed that Parsons will join the upcoming Broadway run alongside powerhouse vocalist Deborah Cox and performer Frankie Grande.
The Olivier Award–winning hit, which hilariously reimagines Titanic through the music of Céline Dion, begins previews March 26 at the St. James Theatre, officially opening April 12 for a limited engagement through July 12. Parsons, last seen on Broadway in Our Town and Mother Play, takes on the scene-stealing role of Ruth DeWitt Bukater — Rose’s formidable mother — originally portrayed by Frances Fisher in the 1997 film.
Deborah Cox steps aboard as the Unsinkable Molly Brown, while Frankie Grande reprises his Off-Broadway role as Victor Garber. Co-creator Constantine Rousouli returns as Jack Dawson, joining Marla Mindelle’s fan-favorite Céline Dion. With over-the-top comedy, iconic power ballads, and star wattage to spare, Titanique promises Broadway spectacle with a wink — and a Big Bang–sized draw.
