Jennifer Carpenter will take on a new role.
It’s been more than a year since any show from the Dutton universe graced our television screens. And, while there has been plenty of behind-the-scenes drama for Yellowstone, the 1923 hiatus has been fairly quiet. Finally, fans have a bit of news about the popular prequel, and it’s giving us hope that more is on the way soon.
1923 ended its first season in February 2023, and, with the extended writers’ and actors’ strikes, the second season has faced delays. Paramount+ just announced a new addition to the cast and, according to Deadline, production will resume this year.
Jennifer Carpenter will be joining the star-studded cast that includes Helen Mirren, Harrison Ford, Brandon Sklenar, Aminah Nieves, Julia Schlaepfer, Michelle Randolph, and more. She’ll be portraying U.S Deputy Marshall Mamie Fossett, “who serves warrants and makes arrests with confidence ahead of her time,” according to Deadline.
Jennifer is most recognizable for her role as Debra Morgan on Dexter and Rebecca Harris on the CBS drama Limitless. She married her Dexter co-star Michael C. Hall. The two divorced in 2011, and Jennifer is now married to The Avett Brothers singer Seth Avett.
According to the Austin American Statesman, filming will begin in Texas in July and run through September. Paramount+ has not released additional casting news for the show’s second season, but we’ll be on the lookout for more information as production begins.
