“Twelve years ago, after my final scene on NCIS, Michael and I walked back to our trailers and this photo was taken. We had no idea then that Tony and Ziva’s story would one day come full circle.
Today, this photo carries a beautiful new meaning. May Tony and Ziva walk into their forever. Thank you all for your love and support ❤️”
Weatherly and De Pablo’s shared statement is as follows:
“We feel incredibly lucky to have had the chance to play these characters once again and to tell the next chapter of Tony and Ziva’s story,” Weatherly and de Pablo said in a statement. “Our deepest thanks go to our extraordinary cast, crew, writers, directors, and producers, and to our partners at CBS Studios and Paramount+ who helped make this dream a reality. But most of all, we want to thank the fans around the world who joined us on this adventure and finally got to see Tony and Ziva find their happily ever after.”
What Could an ‘NCIS: Tony & Ziva’ Season 2 Look Like?

Tiva themselves spoke with Collider’s Maggie Lovitt at New York Comic Con and Weatherly offered up who he would’ve liked to see in Tony & Ziva Season 2. The wishlist was more than warranted, with the series snagging a spot in Paramount+ Top 10 each week it aired, a promising sign to the streamer that people loved seeing this continuation of a fan-favorite ship’s story. That, of course, could always do with a bit of nostalgia, which paved the way for Weatherly’s hopes for Season 2. The wishlist included, of course, their NCIS co-star Sean Murray as Timothy McGee (who was affectionately referenced in Tony & Ziva). Weatherly explained his wishlist was created with the fans in mind:
“What we were talking about is, since we did come up with this, what would the fans want to see? And one of the things I’m hearing a lot about is who they would want to see, and is there a way for, say, some of the characters we know and love to pop up? It’s such a cool universe that we’ve created. It’s outside of the procedural domain. Deeks and Kensi could pop up, Sam Hanna could pop up, or our lovable Probie, Timmy McGee.”
