NCIS fans may have reason to hope: Jimmy Palmer and Jessica Knight’s romance might not be over after all. Brian Dietzen (Jimmy) recently told TV Line that the door between the two characters is “semi-open,” explaining that their breakup was more about timing than incompatibility.
An upcoming episode — centered around an AI chatbot prying into the team’s personal lives — will stir up new questions about NCIS relationships. Dietzen, who co-wrote the episode, teased that it won’t resolve the love triangle involving Torres, Jimmy, and Knight, but it will hint at where one character’s heart might be heading.
Katrina Law (Jessica) agrees the pairing could return, saying, “Anything is possible… she and Jimmy could make a comeback.”
Meanwhile, Sean Murray (McGee) says Season 23 feels more personal and emotionally rich, and he praised the fresh tones of the NCISverse spinoffs like Tony & Ziva and Origins. Those shows have their own relationship drama too — including Gibbs navigating complicated feelings between Lala and Diane.
For now, nothing is confirmed, but the cast’s comments are giving fans plenty of hope that Jimmy and Jessica might find their way back to each other.
