CBS has already ordered a Season 2 of Sheriff Country ahead of the Season 1 fall finale and lengthy winter hiatus.
The first Fire Country spin-off has been a huge success for the network. According to the CBS press release, Sheriff Country is averaging ““”7.6 million viewers in Nielsen live plus 7-day multiplatform ratings.”
Not only is Sheriff Country doing 33% better in the Friday 8 p.m. time slot than the final season of the Shemar Moore hit series S.W.A.T., the press release also confirms that Sheriff Country continuously wins the time slot on Friday nights.
That’s why CBS wasted no time ordering a sophomore season for Sheriff Country this week, along with a second season for the Blue Bloods spin-off Boston Blue starring Donnie Wahlberg.
“Two new shows on Friday night have become instant hits, with audiences quickly embracing BOSTON BLUE and SHERIFF COUNTRY across broadcast and streaming. These early renewals reflect the power of character-driven storytelling, compelling narratives and the exceptional talent on both sides of the camera that make these series truly stand out,” shared said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment via the CBS press release.

There was a fan who wondered if Season 1 of Sheriff Country was already ending because of the early Season 2. The answer to that is no, but the Fire Country spin-off will be taking a break soon.
On Friday, December 19, Sheriff Country will air its fall finale with Episode 9. Sheriff Country won’t return until Friday, February 27, with the remaining 11 episodes airing throughout the spring.
