The NCIS episode “Stolen Moments” teased a possible spark between Nick Torres and Jessica Knight — and left Jimmy Palmer shaken just as he was ready to confess he still has feelings for her. But is a Torres/Knight romance actually happening? Brian Dietzen says… maybe, maybe not.
Dietzen, who co-wrote the episode, explains that the final elevator moment was meant to be open to interpretation. Some fans may see chemistry. Others may think Jimmy simply misread a harmless gesture. And some may view it as Jimmy realizing Knight isn’t waiting around for him.
Knight and Palmer’s history complicates everything. They loved each other deeply but broke up because their futures didn’t align. Now, after working with the A.I. assistant DAWN, Jimmy realizes he wants more out of life — including possibly getting Knight back. He just lost his nerve at the worst moment.
Whether the show builds a Knight/Torres romance or steers back toward Jimmy and Jessica remains a mystery. With NCIS heading into a long break after the midseason finale, fans will have to wait until 2026 to see who — if anyone — wins Knight’s heart.
