Virgin River Season 7 Is Coming Sooner Than You Think md14

Virgin River is officially returning for season 7, with Netflix targeting a March 2026 premiere. The fan-favorite drama remains one of the platform’s most-watched shows and has already been renewed for a record season 8.

Season 7 began filming in March–June 2025 in Vancouver, with additional scenes shot in Mexico, likely for Mel and Jack’s honeymoon. The new season will once again feature 10 episodes.

New cast members include Sara Canning as an ex-cop turned medical investigator and Cody Kearsley as Clay, a former rodeo hand searching for his long-lost sister. Austin Nichols has also joined the cast in a mystery role.

Story-wise, season 7 picks up hours after the season 6 finale. Mel and Jack settle into married life and their unfinished farm home, while a new twist could bring a baby into their lives through Marley. Other major arcs include:

  • Brie–Brady–Mike: The love triangle intensifies after Mike’s proposal.

  • Charmaine & the Twins: A possible kidnapping storyline involving Calvin.

  • Doc: Fighting to regain his medical license.

  • Lizzie & Denny: Preparing for the birth of their daughter.

  • Preacher & Kaia: A hopeful, drama-free romance ahead.

Season 7 also brings more flashbacks and officially ends chatter of the long-rumored Virgin River spin-off.

Season 8 is already in active development, set to film from April to July 2026, with Alexandra Breckenridge contracted through eight seasons.
