A new Netflix festive release is being hailed by viewers as the “best Christmas movie of the year.”
The streamer has packed its holiday lineup with classics like The Holiday and Diane Keaton’s The Family Stone, but its newest original, My Secret Santa, is the title stealing all the attention. The film stars Virgin River’s Alexandra Breckenridge as Taylor, a single mum who—after suddenly losing her job—goes undercover as an elderly man to work as a ski resort’s Santa.
Complications (and holiday magic) arrive when Taylor begins to fall for the resort owner’s son, played by New Amsterdam and 90210 actor Ryan Eggold.
Fans have taken to social media and IMDb to praise the film’s charm, freshness, and cast chemistry. One viewer crowned it the “best Christmas movie this year,” adding: “It’s fresh, well acted… I’ll watch this over and over. Alexandra was awesome.”
Another simply called it a “must-watch.”
With glowing 10/10 reviews and comparisons to Mrs Doubtfire, My Secret Santa is quickly becoming Netflix’s breakout holiday hit of the season.
