Virgin River fans are eager for Season 7, and Alexandra Breckenridge is offering just enough hints to spark even more anticipation. Speaking with Swooon, the actress revealed what’s next for Mel and Jack after their long-awaited wedding in the Season 6 finale.
The celebration didn’t end on a high note: Jack rushed to Charmaine’s house after she skipped the ceremony, only to find chaos — and something terrifying in the twins’ nursery. According to Breckenridge, that disturbing final scene will immediately set the tone for Season 7.
“Oh yeah, they’ll be tested,” she confirmed. “And they will have a romantic honeymoon! But it wouldn’t be Virgin River without a little drama mixed into the romance.”
Season 6 also introduced the possibility of Mel and Jack adopting a baby. After a patient’s original adoptive family backed out, the mother revealed she wanted her child raised in Virgin River — with Mel and Jack. With Mel having closed the door on another pregnancy after her miscarriage, this new path could give the couple the family they’ve dreamed of.
Martin Henderson previously explained that their heartbreak ultimately strengthened their bond: “They can still have their dream. It just might look a little different.”
