Gerry Turner delighted fans as he made his debut appearance on The Kardashians and opened up about his time as the first-ever Golden Bachelor.
The 72-year-old joined Kris Jenner and Kendall Jenner for dinner in the latest episode after the model admitted she’s a huge fan of his show. Kendall also brought along her close friend Hannah Cohen for support.
As the group sat down to eat, the three women bombarded Gerry with questions. Hannah asked him about the one thing he learned from taking part in The Golden Bachelor. Gerry replied: “That I get emotional so easy.”
He added: “Each rose ceremony was difficult. It’s awful. It was loss.” Kendall was blown away by Gerry’s answer as she gushed: “See, I love how emotionally intelligent you are. I mean, it probably comes with age as well, but it’s so beautiful.”
Gerry joked: “I’m not smart, I’m just old,” but Kendall persisted, saying: “No you’re not, you are smart. I’m sure there’s men that don’t put that together ever.”
The dinner took place before the finale of The Golden Bachelor, so Kris, Kendall and Hannah tried to quiz Gerry on who he picked to propose to. When it became clear Gerry wouldn’t spill anything, Kris said: “Listen, we’re just so happy that you’re here. And my prayer for you is I hope that you have found happiness and a sense of love in your life.”
After their meal, Gerry joined Kris in her kitchen and opened up about his experience using hearing aids as Kris revealed she had been “experiencing a bit of ringing in my ears.” Gerry said his experience of ringing in his ears “was bad” when he first started struggling with hearing loss.
Gerry said: “It got slowly but steadily a little louder, a little worse.” He then explained how he knew he needed hearing aids, saying: “I think when you feel like you’re frustrated enough that you’re missing too much, it’ll be time to go.”
Kris praised Gerry for being so open as she admitted she finds it hard to speak about her health problems. Gerry replied: “Everyone is different. I don’t feel self-conscious about them at all. I mean, it’s ear candy.”
