This year’s Evening from the Heart LA gala—an annual event honoring John Ritter’s legacy and supporting the ongoing work of the John Ritter Foundation for Aortic Health—will present a special one-night-only staged celebrity reading from “Three’s Company.” Free streaming platform Pluto TV will serve as the exclusive media partner, hosting the production on demand following the event. The gala will take place on Sept. 12 at the Sunset Room in Hollywood.
The live read will feature the Season 7 episode “Going to Pot,” which originally aired in 1983. The cast includes Kaley Cuoco, Adam Devine and Jason Alexander, joined by original series stars Priscilla Barnes and Richard Kline, who will reprise their roles as Terri Alden and Larry Dallas. Dennis Dugan will direct the performance, with Tom Bergeron providing the stage directions.
Pluto TV—home to a 24/7 “Three’s Company” channel—will also air a curated marathon of episodes in Ritter’s honor.
The gala aims to raise awareness and funding for aortic health research and patient support, uniting supporters, advocates, and medical professionals in celebration of Ritter’s impact.
“This event is a celebration of John’s life and the community that has grown around his memory,” said Amy Yasbeck, founder of The John Ritter Foundation for Aortic Health. “We’re grateful to Pluto TV for helping us broaden the reach of this performance and amplify our mission to save lives through awareness and research.”
Ritter, who appeared in 172 episodes of “Three’s Company” between 1977 and 1984, died in September 2003. What was initially believed to be a heart attack was later identified as an aortic dissection. At the time, he was filming “8 Simple Rules” with Cuoco, who played his daughter on the show.
Although gala tickets have sold out, fans can watch the live read online via the John Ritter Foundation website. The event will later stream exclusively on demand through Pluto TV.
“Classic TV remains one of Pluto TV’s strongest categories, delivering top engagement across the platform,” said Amy Kuessner, EVP of programming at Pluto TV. “This collaboration underscores our commitment to celebrating beloved television while supporting meaningful causes. We’re honored to help bring this performance to audiences everywhere and continue sharing John Ritter’s legacy with new generations.”
