When I spoke to Fran Drescher, it was the end of August, and the European Union’s alarming gel nail polish ban hadn’t yet been announced. We were talking about her Breast Cancer Awareness month campaign and collaboration with makeup brand Laura Geller. I was getting tips on everything from holistic medicine (Drescher and her Cancer Schmancer Foundation are big proponents) to long-lasting makeup when she said, “I don’t know if you’re familiar with the Dazzle Dry nail polish. That is, I mean, state of the art.”
As a non-gel girl myself, my ears perked up. “They say it dries fast, but it really does dry fast, it’s nontoxic, goes on in four steps, lasts for weeks, comes off with regular nail polish remover, and my nails are stronger,” she said. It’s the most convincing endorsement I’ve ever heard for a beauty product, especially since Drescher doesn’t appear to be affiliated with the brand.
The four steps in the Dazzle Dry system have an accompanying product; step one is prep using an astringent alcohol to remove debris and oil, step two is a base coat, step three is nail polish color, and step four is top coat. Though these are the standard steps for any DIY manicure, the brand has its own proprietary formulas that, per Drescher and thousands of fans, make all the difference.

One shopper said, “this system is so easy to use, makes your nails stronger, and lasts for over two weeks.” Someone who stopped getting gel manicures because of the damaging effects said, “no other nail polish compares to Dazzle Dry. It looks like gel, minus all the UV light, and will last at least a week or more.” One last shopper said that besides drying as fast as advertised, “I’ve been using the system for months and my nails have never been healthier, longer or stronger.”
