Yellowstone is expanding its universe continuously, involving many new adventurous entries. While the latest updates related to Y: Marshals excited everyone, a few details may make your mood similar to a wet weekend. With a new storyline being introduced to the Yellowstone universe, a report by TV Line suggests that the series is headed to CBS.
Meaning that, unlike its predecessors, which are still available to stream on Paramount+, Y: Marshals won’t be on the streamer. In fact, the latest update suggests that the series will be a CBS original (via People).
What’s more disheartening is that Taylor Sheridan is not throwing in his ideas for this one. Y: Marshals is being written by Spencer Hudnut. Not only that, but he will also helm the show as its executive producer as well as its showrunner. People also report that Sheridan will be on the executive producer list as well and is helping Hudnut in developing the story.
In case you don’t know, Hudnut has previously worked on entries such as CBS’s Unforgettable, which starred Poppy Montgomery, Dylan Walsh, and others. The writer’s other work that is widely appreciated is Paramount+’s SEAL Team.
What’s exciting about Y: Marshals is that the series will feature the Yellowstone trio, Gil Birmingham, Brecken Merrill, and Mo Brings Plenty, alongside Luke Grimes’ lead as the series regulars, per Deadline. They will be joined by Arielle Kebbel, Ash Santos, and Tatanka Means.
A New Life Awaits Luke Grimes’s Kayce in Y: Marshals

Y: Marshals will depict the storyline of Luke Grimes’ Kayce Dutton, and will begin directly after the events of Sheridan’s one of the most prestigious works, Yellowstone. With Kayce moving out of his Duton ranch life, he will be shown to adopt a new adventure as he embraces the law enforcement life.
This new responsibility will take him on a new route, being a member of the elite unit of U.S. Marshals. We can hope that Kayce Dutton will bring justice to the Montahna range. Coming from his experience of being a cowboy as well as a Navy SEAL, he will fight against injustice with his new teammates. We can also hope for a touch of action as well as drama that will come from his personal lie.
Here’s what the summary of Y: Marshals reads on IMDb.
Ex-Navy SEAL Kayce Dutton leaves Yellowstone Ranch to join U.S. Marshals, using his cowboy and military skills to fight crime in Montana while dealing with family ties and the mental toll of law enforcement.
What new turns does life await for Kayce Dutton, now that he is the last line of defense? Only time will tell.
