Fire Country often has its cast members pulling double duty with two different roles on the show.
Jordan Calloway is the latest actor to add a new role to his resume for the hit CBS drama. Not only does Calloway play Jake on Fire Country, but he’s stepping behind the camera for the next episode.
The news was announced via the official Fire Country Instagram page. Several photos of Calloway in director mode were featured in the Instagram post.
“Lights, camera, Calloway! 🎬 #behindthescenes of @j_calloway6 making his directorial debut on #FireCountry! #tvshow #drama #action,” read the caption on the social media share.
Fire Country fans were thrilled by the news and popped in the comments section of the Instagram post to express their excitement.
“I like Jake 🙌 he keeps Bode in line and he is fine as 🍷…. You go Jakey,” shared a fan. One fan stated, “Yeeesss so proud of you Jordan @j_calloway6 🔥🔥🔥🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽.”
Another fan expressed, “Fire country is becoming way cooler, giving most actors a chance to direct. I applaud them for the UNITY you guys have and that’s how it’s supposed be. It shouldn’t be just business, it’s also growing skills together and empowering each other .”

Calloway’s directorial debut is set for Episode 4 titled “Like a Wounded Wildebeest.” According to a press release, the synopsis for the episode reads, “Manny has a serious conversation with Bode about a troubling discovery, urging him to be honest and take responsibility.”
Other members of the Fire Country cast who have taken on dual roles include Kevin Alejandro. Like Calloway, Alejandro has also showcased his skills behind the camera, having directed several episodes throughout the series.
Max Thieriot doesn’t just play Bode on the CBS drama; he’s also one of the Fire Country creators.
