In a smaller capacity, the FBI itself has undergone a series of major changes since Tiffany left the force—a moment that seemed to usher in a series of “overhauls” for the team. Her departure left a void that was difficult to fill and forced Scola to work without a permanent partner. Throughout that time, CBS introduced new faces in hopes of finding someone who could replace Katherine Kane, only to write them out of the story because they didn’t fit the overall development. Eventually, Juliana Aidén Martinez as Eva Ramos became Scola’s current partner and was the first to bring some stability to his rotation. However, just as one part of Scola’s work life began to settle down, another upheaval struck.
In the new trailer for FBI season 8 episode 7 (released via TV Promos/YouTube), the New York office is tasked with handling a case that takes place inside a prison. Despite careful planning, the mission quickly spirals out of control, leaving Scola trapped in the correctional facility and face-to-face with dangerous inmates. In a shocking scene in the trailer, he is even assaulted inside his cell. Viewers can watch the full promotional video below.
The episode, titled “Fadeout,” opens with an explosion that rocks an apartment complex in Brooklyn. Notably, the violence was planned by a convicted felon from behind bars. This forces Scola and his team to visit the prison to search for clues. The biggest question is: was the chaos that erupted during their visit part of an elaborate plan that the mastermind had planned all along, or was it just a random incident that made the case more dangerous?
Not stopping at Scola’s story, FBI season 8 episode 7 also pushes Isobel into a turning point decision. After her near-death experience in the Season 7 finale, she was promoted to a higher position—a fitting reward for her tireless work. But with that honor comes the responsibility of choosing a successor. Ideally, the most suitable name would be Jubal, whom Isobel herself believes has the right skills and qualities. But internal office politics are making this seemingly obvious choice much more complicated.
