He might be best known today for portraying Chief Dom Pascal in NBC’s Chicago Fire, but Dermot Mulroney has had a long and impressive career on both the small and big screen. From making his screen debut in the 1988 romantic Western Sunset to joining the late great Diane Keaton in Thomas Bezucha‘s The Family Stone, Mulroney is no stranger to performing in a range of genres. This is something coming particularly in handy with his latest movie, the horror flick Night Patrol, scheduled for release on January 16, 2026.
Following the movie’s debut at Fantastic Fest this past September, where it received plenty of praise from those in attendance, the official trailer for Night Patrol has now finally been released and is available to watch below. With trust in the police force currently a hot topic, Night Patrol taps into this cultural zeitgeist and, as any good horror should, weaves it into a bloody narrative. For director Ryan Prows, who co-wrote alongside Tim Cairo, Jake Gibson, and Shaye Ogbonna, this manifests in the form of a vampire flick, one that promises to keep viewers on the edge of their seats. The synopsis for Night Patrol reads:
“An LAPD officer must put aside his differences with the area’s street gangs when he discovers a local police task force is harboring a horrific secret that endangers the residents of the housing projects he grew up in.”
The ‘Night Patrol’ Cast Includes a WWE Favorite
To fans of network procedurals, Mulroney’s name is surely the most eye-catching in Night Patrol‘s line-up. However, for WWE fans, that title goes to CM Punk, the iconic in-ring performer who joins the likes of Justin Long, Jermaine Fowler, RJ Cyler, Freddie Gibbs, YG, Flying Lotus, and more in the zombie horror. Having appeared in several big-screen projects to date, Night Patrol comes at a similar time to Punk’s biggest movie yet, as he voices Zebro Zebrowski in Zootopia 2. Punk joins a star-studded line-up in the animated sequel sure to prove a box office hit, starring alongside the likes of Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman, Idris Elba, Shakira, Ke Huy Quan, and Quinta Brunson. Zootopia 2 is scheduled for release on November 26.
