Virgin River Season 7 Sets Its Premiere Window — And It’s Sooner Than Fans Expected md14

Virgin River season 7 finally has a premiere month — and fans won’t have to wait too long to return to the small-town drama. After debuting its sixth season in December 2024 and once again dominating Netflix’s charts, the beloved series is gearing up for another emotional chapter centered on Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge), Jack (Martin Henderson), and the fallout from its biggest cliffhanger yet.

Based on Robyn Carr’s bestselling novels, season 6 ended with a shocking tease that Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley) might be dead. While the mystery won’t be solved just yet, viewers can take comfort in knowing the next season is officially on the way.

During an interview with Good Day New York promoting his new film The Christmas Ring, Ben Hollingsworth (Dan Brady) confirmed that Virgin River season 7 will premiere in March 2026. The news was first mentioned by one of the show’s hosts before Hollingsworth enthusiastically backed it up, reflecting on the series’ longevity and the emotional journey of playing Brady:

“It’s surreal. Netflix is the biggest streaming platform in the world, and being part of its longest-running show is such a blessing. I’m so attached to Brady. Everything bad seems to happen to him — I always say his address should be between a rock and a hard place. I’m constantly hoping he gets a chance at happiness.”

Season 8, which officially makes Virgin River Netflix’s longest-running live-action scripted series, wrapped filming in June. It will introduce new characters, including The Vampire Diaries alum Sara Canning as an ex-cop turned medical board investigator who arrives in town to look into Doc’s practice.

Cody Kearsley (Riverdale) also joins as Clay, a foster kid searching for his sister. Most of the core ensemble will return, though one familiar face won’t be back in a main role — showrunner Patrick Sean Smith confirmed that Mark Ghanimé (Dr. Cameron Hayek) will not return as a series regular.
