Star Benjamin Hollingsworth hints at a March premiere
Fans of Virgin River finally have a clearer idea of when the beloved Netflix drama will return. After last month’s disappointing news that Season 7 had been pushed into 2026, a promising update has arrived: the show is now targeting a March 2026 premiere.
The release window comes from FOX5 New York, which referenced March several times during an interview with Benjamin Hollingsworth (Dan Brady). When pressed, Hollingsworth confirmed the timeframe on-air.
The actor appeared on Good Day New York on November 13 to promote his new holiday film, The Christmas Ring, co-starring Kelsey Grammer. After discussing the movie, the conversation shifted to Virgin River, where Hollingsworth reflected on the show’s milestone achievement of becoming Netflix’s longest-running series, now heading into its eighth season.
Calling the accomplishment “surreal,” he expressed deep affection for playing Brady—even joking that he’s been pushing behind the scenes to finally give his character a break. As he put it, Brady often lives “between a rock and a hard place.”

Hollingsworth also teased major Season 7 storylines:
-
Brady is broke again after having his entire bank account drained in Season 6.
-
His relationship with Brie is up in the air, especially after Mike’s unexpected bottle-cap proposal.
-
Brady will be tracking down his stolen money, confronting his ex, and trying to figure out if he can win Brie back.
While the March target is encouraging, it’s important to note that Netflix has not officially announced a date. So far, the only formal confirmation is that Season 7 will debut sometime in 2026, as stated by Ted Sarandos during Netflix’s Q3 earnings call. That aligns with Alexandra Breckenridge’s earlier comments about avoiding overlap with major Q4 releases like Stranger Things.
Meanwhile, Season 8 is already well underway in development. A charity listing recently revealed a preliminary filming window beginning next April, consistent with other Netflix shows that resume production shortly after a new season drops.
If the March plan holds, Virgin River will premiere alongside Netflix’s only other confirmed March release so far: One Piece Season 2, launching March 10.
More updates on the official premiere date are expected soon—stay tuned.
