Tyler Cameron is sharing his two cents about the recent divorce announcement of “Bachelorette” stars Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist.
During Wednesday’s episode of “The Happy House” on SiriusXM’s TODAY Show Radio, the “Bachelorette” alum, who starred on ABC’s dating competition show Hannah Brown’s season in 2019, explained why star he thinks the former couple has tarnished Bachelor Nation’s reputation.
“They put a real stain on love in the ‘Bachelor’ world,” he said of Turner and Nist, who revealed they were getting divorced just three months after tying the knot on live television. “Three months?! They make all my relationships seem so long. Do you know what I mean? Like, oh my god, I’m a dating expert compared to them… They taint love and Bachelor Nation because it’s the healthiest [experience]. Then they just pulled the rug right out from under us.”

Comparing the duo to people like his father, Cameron said their downfall came down to one thing: They “didn’t want to change their ways.”
“[My dad] couldn’t find anyone who wanted to deal with what he did… he didn’t want to change much either and I imagine Gerry and Theresa didn’t want to change their ways,” Cameron said. “Gerry and Theresa don’t. want to change their ways. He didn’t want to leave Indiana, where his family lived, and she didn’t want to leave New Jersey.”

“It’s like it’s just two stubborn old men, you know? And as you grow older, you become more stubborn,” he added.
On April 12, the former couple announced their divorce during an appearance on “Good Morning America.”
“Theresa and I had some honest conversations and we took a hard look at our circumstances, our living situations, etc. and together we came to the conclusion that perhaps it was time to do so.” for us to — dissolve our marriage,” Turner said.

Nist added: “We have received so much love and support from so many people who have watched The Golden Bachelor, and I don’t think we can tell you how many people have told us that The movie gives them a lot of hope.” “We don’t want that to change for anyone.”
Before their divorce, Nist shared why she and Turner decided to live separately.
“What impressed me most about our conversations was how devoted we both were to our families,” Nist said during the wedding special. “So we looked at these situations and I think we felt it was best for each of us to be happy apart.”

Turner is based in Indiana, while Nist lives and works in New Jersey.
During an interview on the “Dear Shandy” podcast in late March, the duo also opened up about another “barrier” they were facing in their relationship: Nist’s decision to continue working.
“I still work so that’s an obstacle,” said Nist, who works in financial services.
“I guess the hard part is I came on the show to find my life partner and I’ve been retired for a long time. I want fun, adventure. I want to go and do it. That’s the point of it.” , right now, is – when does that start?” Turner asked.

And initially, it was South Carolina. We’re still not sure if that’s the location or not.”
“I think living arrangements are really secondary to the freedom to be able to travel and enjoy life and work,” Turner replied.
Nist and Turner married in January in a ceremony broadcast live to millions of fans on ABC. The couple met during the first season of “The Golden Bachelor.”
