FBI Cast Shocked by Loss of Missy Peregrym md20

Fans of CBS’ FBI can’t stop talking about what’s next for Missy Peregrym’s character, Special Agent Maggie Bell, especially after what happened in Season 8. In the most recent episode, Maggie opened up to her partner, Peter, saying she feels “off balance” and unsure about where she fits in.

Is Missy Peregrym’s Maggie really leaving the FBI TV show?

In the recent episode, Maggie opened up about feeling worn out and a bit lost, saying the past year has left her “off balance” and disconnected from the world around her. She explained that diving deeper into the minds of the criminals they’re chasing might help her make sense of things.

Her words hint that she’s dealing with burnout and could be thinking about making a big shift in her career. “I think this past year has made me feel off balance. I feel like when I look around, I don’t… I don’t really recognize the world anymore. So I guess I was hoping that if I could get deeper into the minds of the criminals that we’re hunting, then… maybe I could make sense of something” (via TheDirect).

Even though Maggie’s recent self-reflection hints at a possible exit, there’s no official word that Missy Peregrym is leaving FBI. The show has handled her absences before because of Peregrym’s real-life pregnancies.

Back in Season 2, Maggie went undercover to explain her time away, and in Season 4, she was exposed to sarin gas, landing her in the hospital, only to make a dramatic return after recovering. The series has multiple times written clever exits and comebacks for her character.

Right now, the story has Maggie going through a phase of self-reflection and uncertainty, which could point to a temporary break rather than a full-on exit. That said, FBI could still find a clever way to write her character off if needed. However, there is a way how FBI can write off her character.

Maggie’s burnout as a Special Agent is understandable, given the stress of her job. Taking time off seems logical after her recent exit hints in FBI Season 8, but the New York Field Office’s fragile state makes it complicated.

While Jubal Valentine would easily approve a leave, Maggie might stay to support her team. With past challenges, like adopting Ella in Season 7 and handling dangerous cases, joining the Behavioral Analysis Unit could offer her to work with FBI while easing field stress.
