Netflix has recently made some new announcements about the upcoming “schedule” of Bridgerton – a romantic series set in the Regency era of England but with a fictionalized and modernized version. Accordingly, Bridgerton will continue to make seasons 5 and 6 – previously Netflix only confirmed up to season 4. At the same time, Netflix also scheduled the release of season 4 in 2026, the specific date has not been announced yet.
This makes Bridgerton fans happy and sad. The die-hard Bridgerton fans all know that the film is adapted from the novel series by author Julia Quinn, consisting of 8 books. What is special is that the main character of each book, as well as each season, will not be fixed but will rotate to be one of the Bridgerton siblings. Accordingly, it can be seen that Daphne debuted in season 1, Anthony got married in season 2, Colin was the focus of season 3.
The Bridgerton family has up to 8 siblings, so it is completely reasonable for the film to have a new season. The central character as well as the content of seasons 5 and 6 of Bridgerton have not been revealed yet. It is also unclear whether these two seasons will bring all the remaining characters to the stage, or if there will be a new season after that – if the viewership performance meets Netflix’s requirements.

While viewers are happy that Bridgerton has been renewed by Netflix for a new season, they are not entirely happy with the long gap between seasons. Season 1 premiered in 2020, season 2 premiered in 2022, season 3 returned in 2024, and with season 4 premiering in 2026 – it looks like Bridgerton is taking an average of 2 years to complete a season.
That means it could be 2028 before viewers see season 5, and 2030 for season 6. Some viewers are worried that the cast will be in their 40s when the season they star in begins.
In recent years, Netflix has also had the “trick” of dividing movies into two parts to show, like Bridgerton season 3. Part 1 including the first 4 episodes aired on May 16, 2024 and the audience had to wait another month to watch Part 2 including the next 4 episodes aired on June 13, 2024. Most of the audience did not like this. They commented that they just wanted to watch a movie in one go, especially when they had to wait for quite a long time.
Season 4 of Bridgerton revolves around the story of Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) – the second son of the Bridgerton family. At this time, when his older brother Anthony and younger brother Colin are both married, and his younger sisters Daphne and Francesca are also married, Benedict becomes the new “target” in his mother’s matchmaking. Lady Violet wants to find her son a suitable bride, and she organizes a masquerade ball.

A short clip from Bridgerton season 4 was also released, showing part of the masquerade party. There, Benedict, dressed as a romantic pirate, was captivated by a girl in a white dress and silver mask. She was engrossed in the chandelier, and Benedict was engrossed in her. The girl was Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha) – the illegitimate daughter of a Count, but Benedict did not know that at the time.
