Episode synopsis
- Initially, Jack, Janet, and Chrissy are disappointed to be spending a quiet Christmas Eve together, believing they have no party invitations.
- When their landlords, the Ropers, invite them to their party, the trio reluctantly accepts, only to discover afterward that they were also invited to a much better party thrown by their friends, the Stevens.
- Chrissy insists they honor their commitment to the Ropers, and they endure a boring evening of bad card tricks and poor singing.
- Eventually, they manage to escape to the Stevens’ party, where they run into Mr. and Mrs. Roper. It turns out the Ropers also got a last-minute invitation and spent their evening trying to bore the roommates into leaving so they could go to the bigger party themselves.
