Violet’s Heart on Fire: Chicago Fire Teases a New Love Story and Novak’s Hidden Past md11

Love might finally be rekindling at Firehouse 51. Chicago Fire fans who’ve been mourning Violet’s heartbreak over Carver’s departure to Denver may not have to wait long for a spark to return — and this time, it could come from an unexpected direction.

Violet’s Heart Begins to Heal

After Carver’s emotional exit in the Season 13 finale, Violet (Hanako Greensmith) was left reeling. Their confessions of love came too late, leaving her once again alone — a familiar pattern after losing Hawkins, seeing Gallo move on, and watching things crash with Flynn.

But according to Chicago Fire showrunner Andrea Newman, Violet’s story is about to turn a corner. “Violet is going to have some fun this season,” Newman teased. “She’s not looking to fall in love. But sometimes that’s exactly when it happens.”

While Newman didn’t reveal who might catch Violet’s eye, the promise of romance has reignited excitement among fans hoping to see her finally find happiness.

Novak’s Flirtations and a New Connection

Violet isn’t the only one sparking new chemistry. Her partner Novak (Jocelyn Hudon) will also find herself in the middle of a few romantic entanglements — and possibly, trouble.

“There will be fun,” Newman teased. “There will also be big trouble.”

Novak’s natural flirtatiousness is set to resurface now that her former flame Damon is out of the picture. And while she shares an immediate connection with Firehouse 51 newcomer Sal Vasquez, Newman hinted that their bond runs deeper than attraction. “She sees a lot of herself in him,” the showrunner said. “She even tells him, ‘I know what it’s like to be the new guy at 51.’”

Still, Novak’s heart may not stay focused for long. Newman teased that her character could “be flirting with someone else in our Chicago world,” suggesting a possible crossover spark with Chicago P.D. or Chicago Med.

A Family Secret Comes to Light

Novak’s story won’t be all about romance. A dramatic early-season incident will reportedly shed light on her mysterious past. “Pretty early on, a scary incident will lead to us meeting a member of the storied Novak family,” Newman revealed.

That tease has fans speculating whether Novak’s family history could connect to Chicago’s emergency services — or even bring an old face back into the fold.

Carver’s Return Still Possible

As for Sam Carver (Jake Lockett), Newman confirmed that his exit isn’t necessarily permanent. “There was a sense of closure in that Violet and Carver finally told each other how they really felt,” she said. “But seeing Carver again is definitely a possibility. We love Jake Lockett and all he brought to the character.”

If Carver does make a comeback, it could reignite old emotions just as Violet begins to move forward — setting up a fresh wave of emotional chaos at 51.
