Hero Fiennes Tiffin and Josephine Langford had so much chemistry as Hardin Scott and Tessa Young, respectively, in the After film series, but did they ever date in real life?!
The acting duo made their debut in the After movies — based on the book series of the same name by Anna Todd — in April 2019. As their relationship unfolded onscreen, fans started to ship Tiffin and Langford offscreen as well. However, the duo made it clear things between them were only ever platonic.
“We’re good friends. We get along,” Tiffin told Entertainment Tonight of himself and Langford in October 2020. “The set is super professional, and I think cast, crew, production and everyone from the start has made it like that.”
While there was no love between himself and Langford when the cameras stopped rolling, Tiffin made it clear that he does “understand” why fans want to see them together in real life.
“I get why you’d see people in a film and, kind of, want them to be together,” he told J-14 in September 2022. “When people are young, they care so much. It’s good that they care. … I understand it, is probably the best way to put it.”

Hero Fiennes Tiffin
Tiffin is extremely private when it comes to his love life. The actor has not publicly dated anyone. However, he has joked about what he would look for if ever making a celebrity appearance on U.K.’s Love Island.
“Someone fun to be around, someone who is confident, who likes to watch movies, but likes an adventure too,” Tiffin told PopSugar in September 2022. “Likes to, you know, maybe play some sports, but maybe just like explore, get out, be active, and try new things.”
Just like her costar, Langford keeps her private life out of the public eye — which includes who she’s dating.
“It’s a bit of a dilemma, being an actor. I know that,” she explained to Cosmopolitan in April 2021. “But otherwise, I’m a relatively private person. I feel like when you get into this industry, it’s so important to have your boundaries. That’s just something I’m trying to do at the moment. Maintain boundaries.”
The award-winning actress played Carol Young (Tessa’s mom) in most of the After films. When it comes to her love life, Sorvino has been married to husband Christopher Backus since 2004 and together they share four children — Mattea Angel, Johnny Christopher King, Holden and Lucia.
The actor portrayed Ken Scott (Hardin’s father) in the movies. As for his relationship history, Estes was married to Josie Bissett from 1992 until 2006. They share two children together, Maya Rose and Mason True.
In 2010, he married Erin Bolte and they welcomed a son, Makai Ever, in April 2011.
While Sprouse was only in one After film, he did play the iconic “f—king Trevor.” Following his appearance in the film series, the former Disney Channel star and longtime love Barbara Palvin officially tied the knot in July 2023.
Moyer played Christian Vance in the After franchise. His character falls in love with a coworker — just like the actor did in real life. He and True Blood costar Anna Paquin have been married since 2010. Together, they share two kids, Charlie and Poppy.
Moyer also has a son Billy from his first marriage and a daughter named Lilac from his past relationship with Lorien Haynes.
The actor starred as Robert Freeman in the final three After movies. In real life, he was previously in a relationship with Sierra Swartz, but his current relationship status is unclear.
