Yellowstone star Kelly Reilly lands next movie role
Yellowstone star Kelly Reilly is eyeing up a new movie alongside Samuel L. Jackson.
According to Deadline, Reilly and Oscar-nominated David Strathairn (Nightmare Alley) are in final negotiations to join the cast of director Kenny Leon’s drama Last Meals, which will shoot later this month in Atlanta thanks to a SAG-AFTRA interim deal.
Boyd Holbrook (Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny), Theo Rossi (The Penguin) and Joshua Boone (A Jazzman’s Blues) have supporting roles, too, while the project is an adaptation of Justin Piasecki’s screenplay Death of an Ortolan.
Jackson, who’s well known for playing Nick Fury in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is onboard Last Meals as a disgraced former chef of the White House named Walter.
30 years on, he finds himself preparing the final meals for prisoners on death row. Walter then forms an unlikely friendship with Reed, an inmate on a hunger strike whose innocence he starts to believe in.
Bringing hope and dignity to the other criminals, Reed, Walter and Hannah (Reilly) are soon taking on a politically-motivated prison head (Strathairn).
Reilly has been exceptionally busy this year, also signing on for the coming-of-age movie Little Wing opposite Succession star Brian Cox.
The story follows Kaitlyn, a teenager coming to terms with the separation of her parents. Quite randomly, she enters into the world of pigeon racing. Initially hoping to steal a valuable bird to help aid her family’s financial issues, Kaitlyn instead finds a friendship that transforms into a love for the sport.
