Bode Faces His Darkest Days: Max Thieriot Teases Heartbreaking Fire Country Storyline md11

Fire Country Season 4 will look a lot different for Bode (Max Thieriot) after losing his father, Vince (Billy Burke).

As Parade reported, the trailer for the upcoming season confirmed rumors that Burke was leaving the show, spoiling the Season 3 cliffhanger. Fire Country creator, Thieriot, is giving fans a little tease at what that means for Bode in the new season.

Will History Repeat Itself For Bode on Fire Country?

Speaking with TV Insider, Thieriot admitted that grief is a tricky thing for Bode. When he lost his sister Riley, it sent Bode spiraling down a path of addiction.

“There’s so many different states of grief, and each person, those stages look a little different, especially for somebody who is a recovering addict,” the Fire County boss shared.

Bode has come a long way since then, but his way of coping with life has remained largely the same. In the wake of losing Vince, Bode continues to put on a brave face while internalizing every single move he makes.

“He’s battling with himself over trying to be the man that his mom needs him to be and that the station needs him to be and his community needs him to be, while inside, there’s a little boy in there that’s really hurt and is really crying inside,” Thieriot told the outlet.

Fire Country fans can expect Bode to reach his breaking point amid his grief. However, that also means Bode will also get back up after he’s been knocked down for this tragedy.

“By the end, we see probably more growth than we’ve ever gotten to experience Bode have in this series,” the actor teased.

Bode Faces More Losses In Fire Country Season 4

The premiere episode will also feature Gabriela (Stephanie Arcila) leaving Station 42 and Edgewater. Gabriela’s exit only further adds to Bode’s grief and loss.

Despite Gabriela leaving, Bode will have plenty of people to lean on. Thanks to the trailer, though, Fire Country fans know Jake (Jordan Calloway) may not be one of them.

Tension mounts between the two best friends after Jake takes drastic measures to keep Bode from running back into the memory care facility to help Vince, Sharon (Diane Farr), and Walter (Jeff Fahey). The fallout of that, in the wake of Vince’s death, will test their friendship again.

“So many of these relationships have a journey ahead and have a lot of healing to do,” Thieriot expressed.

Buckle up, Fire Country fans, because Season 4 will be a whole new ballgame for the CBS drama.

Fire Country Season 4 premieres on Friday, October 17 at 8/7c on CBS.
