CBS’ Law & Order Replacement Becomes a Global Streaming Hit on Paramount+ md01

The hit crime series, FBI is back on the streaming charts. The renewed interest in past episodes comes after Isobel Castille’s fate was revealed in the Season 8 premiere.

Per FlixPatrol, FBI is currently at number six on the Paramount+ US streaming chart. The series is also making waves on the iTunes top 10 chart, where it is currently holding onto the seventh spot. FBI Season 7 ended with Isobel collapsing, which resulted in a bleed to the brain. She had to be rushed to surgery, and fans were left wondering if that was the end for the character (played by Alana De La Garza).

Series producer and showrunner Mike Weiss previously talked about Isobel’s Season 7 storyline. “I might not be a total fiend, but I do employ some fiendish writers,” he explained. “We wanted you to feel very real fallout from her horrible, life-threatening injuries, and also the kind of existential threat that was posed to the New York Field Office. We did, after all, survive kind of a coup that took place,” he continued.

Fortunately, FBI Season 8, Episode 1, titled, “Takeover” confirmed that Isobel had survived. However, another popular character’s death was confirmed. Agent Dani Rhodes (Emily Alabi), who was shot in the abdomen, eventually succumbed to her wounds and died. The character’s demise doesn’t come as too much of a shock since Alabi had confirmed that she would be leaving the show. Created by television powerhouse Dick Wolf and Craig Turk, FBI premiered on CBS in September 2018.

The show features a solid ensemble cast that includes Missy Peregrym, Zeeko Zaki, Jeremy Sisto, Ebonée Noel, Sela Ward, Alana de la Garza, John Boyd, and Katherine Renee Turner. FBI chronicles the lives of New York City’s top FBI agents who keep the city and its residents safe from terrorism, and organized crime. At the heart of the story is Special Agent Maggie Bell. Born into a family steeped in law enforcement, Maggie pours her heart into her team and the citizens she’s sworn to protect.

FBI Season 8 Promises More Drama

Supporting them are Special Agent-in-Charge Dana Mosier, Assistant Special Agent-in-Charge Jubal Valentine, and analyst Kristen Chazal, who eventually hits the field too. As the seasons roll on, the squad evolves in terms of personnel.

Fans have a lot to look forward to in the current installment. Per the official synopsis, FBI Season 8, Episode 2, titled “Captured,” begins when paintings from a high-profile international cultural exchange are stolen – leaving a security guard dead – the team races to recover the priceless artworks.
