Last week, the first dinner service of “Hell’s Kitchen” season 24 got off to a rocky start as Gordon Ramsay kicked out both teams from the kitchen, effectively ending dinner service early.
To kick off this week’s episode, all the chefs were summoned outside where a squad of police cars awaited them. To their surprise, Ramsay told the chefs that for this week’s challenge, they would be making brunch to give back to local police. The first team to serve all of their tables would win an all access tour of the Mystic Aquarium and lunch with Ramsay at Trattoria Amalfi in Mystic.
Both teams kept a steady pace in the challenge. However, chef Cara Marie Hall in the red kitchen struggled with improperly cooked steaks, which slowed the kitchen down and opened a path for the blue kitchen to win the challenge, aided by chef Jon Boyd’s deft waffle making.
Before going off to celebrate the blue team’s win, chef Chase Cardoza visited Ramsay’s office and told him that the pressure and stress were getting to him. Cardoza returned his jacket to Ramsay, ending his stay in Hell’s Kitchen.
Dinner service featured its first celebrity diners of the season with rapper Fat Joe in the blue kitchen and restaurateur Dara Mirjahangiry in the red kitchen.

Both teams kept pace through the appetizers though after struggling with lobsters tails, chef Bradley Wildridge in the blue kitchen burned himself on oil while cooking halibut — receiving medical attention before jumping back into the competition.

As entrées moved out, issues began to spring up in both kitchens.
Chef Elaina Ruth was having trouble cooking the salmon, forcing Ramsay to intercede to show her how to properly cook the salmon. Communication in both kitchens was also failing with both teams bickering among themselves. The wait for food was so long for the blue kitchen’s celebrity table that Fat Joe said that he’d become “Skinny Joe” if he had to wait any longer for his food.

At one point, Ramsay was waiting over 20 minutes for the blue team to serve one table. As he continued to wait, the team served up raw lamb, which prompted Ramsay to kick out the blue team mid-service. In the red kitchen, an overcooked beef wellington from chef Cat Smith was enough to send the red team back to their dorms as well — ending dinner service early for a second week in a row.
The red team nominated Ruth and chef Alexandra Jones for elimination, the later of whom was laughing during dinner service when Ramsay was trying to talk to the team. The blue team nominated chefs Paul Seikel and Antonio Wormley for their performances on the meat station.
In a twist, Ramsay sent not one, but two chefs home. Ruth and Seikel were both asked by Ramsay to return their jackets and exit Hell’s Kitchen.
