“She Can Really Close This Chapter”: FBI Season 6 Ending Explained By Tiffany Star

FBI star Katherine Renee Kane, who plays Tiffany in the procedural series, has explained the ending of season 6 and why it’s so important for her character. The final episode of FBI season 6 brings back Hakim Siran, a terrorist whose attack in the season premiere resulted in Agent Hobbs being killed. Events come full circle for the terrorist when Tiffany, who had been undercover with the deceased agent, shoots Hakim dead when he reaches for a gun.

Speaking with TVLine, Kane unpacked FBI season 6’s ending, focusing on the impact Tiffany’s decision to shoot Hakim will have on her. She explains how quickly events unfolded for the agent, saying that killing the terrorist allows her to close the book on Hobbs’ death too. Check out what Kane had to say below:

I think she’s shook. She’s really shook in the immediate moments after. There’s a lot of hesitation about what’s transpired. It happened so quickly, and I imagine that’s how it happens in real life when agents are pursuing a suspect. You have no idea what they’re going to do in a moment, and you try your best to choose the best response in order to protect your fellow agents, to protect the people you’re sworn to protect — and also yourself. So, I think it was really arresting, but she’s now able to breathe a little bit better, knowing that all things have resolved themselves. She can really close this chapter.

What Will Tiffany’s Story Be For FBI Season 7?

When Tiffany first shot Hakim, it seemed as if the terrorist was genuinely surrendering, making it unclear if she’d been justified in shooting him. However, OA arrived and discovered a gun in the terrorist’s possession, which he’d been reaching for when he was shot. Not only does this offer closure for Hobbs’ death now that his killer is gone, but it also wraps up in a satisfying way by having Tiffany delivering justice. It also offers bookends to her storyline, opening the door for plenty of future ideas.

With FBI season 7 confirmed, there are many different directions her story could go now that justice for Hobbs has been served. Kane herself wants to see a more relaxed version of the character who’s slightly more open about her personal life. A development like that could be justified following the season 6 finale, influencing her to be more open to others because of her experiences. Although it’s unclear if anything from relaxation to romance is within the realm of possibility, these notions could slowly be introduced in the coming seasons.

Given how important her actions in the season 6 finale were, it wouldn’t be surprising for Tiffany to wind up with an increased focus during FBI season 7. In particular, the story could focus on how she moves on from needing to shoot Hakim, possibly making herself more open to others in the process. With so many different ways her story could go, it remains to be seen how the procedural will tackle any new storylines she ends up involved with – and how it could impact her whole relationship with the team.
