The network confirmed that Chicago Med will return in the fall of 2025, airing at the 8 p.m. time slot on Wednesday nights like usual, followed by Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D.

The Chicago Med Season 11 premiere airs Wednesday, October 1 at 8 p.m. on NBC.

Co-showrunners Diane Frolov and Andy Schneider left after Season 9, with Allen MacDonald stepping in for Season 10.

They said in a statement, “We were honored to be chosen by Dick Wolf to run Chicago Med and have tremendously enjoyed our association with Wolf Entertainment and Universal Television. We love Chicago Med and have devoted all our creative energies to it, but after nine seasons we feel it’s time for us to move on and explore other possibilities. We’ve been privileged to work with a great writing staff, production team and a brilliant cast of actors. We will miss them all.”

Allen MacDonald replaced them as executive producer and showrunner.

He previously worked on Prime Video’s Harlan Coben’s Shelter, of which he served as a co-showrunner and executive producer, while his writing credits include 13 Reasons WhyCSI and Body of Proof.

“[Chicago Med is] the best vibe I’ve ever experienced on a set, honestly. The actor told NBC Insider last season. “And that’s really strange to say when you’re coming into a show so far into its run. It’s not what you’d expect. You’d almost expect ego or, I don’t know, people that are just turning up to work for the sake of work. But everyone really enjoys turning up to work at Chicago Med. So yeah, it’s just a joy. It’s amazing to work with such different [co-stars]. Everyone is so different as an actor and their personalities, but everyone is also so humble, and down-to-earth, and giving. The whole thing is just a pleasure.”
