But according to Chicago Fire showrunner Andrea Newman, the upcoming season will feature several smaller-scale crossovers instead.
Rather than one explosive event, fans can expect a string of interconnected moments across episodes, weaving tighter bonds between the shows while allowing storylines to develop more organically.

At the center of these crossovers is Jocelyn Hudon’s character, Lyla “Lizzy” Novak. Newman confirmed to TVLine that Novak will be appearing in Chicago Med “a bunch of times” throughout the season.
“[Lizzy Novak will be] crossing over a bunch with Med for intriguing reasons,” Newman teased, hinting at storylines that will pull the Firehouse 51 paramedic deep into the world of Gaffney Chicago Medical Center.
Given Novak’s role as a paramedic, the crossover choice makes perfect sense. Her medical expertise provides a natural bridge between first response on the ground and the intense emergency cases that unfold inside the hospital walls.
