The timing of Cane’s arrival and these romantic shakeups seems suspicious. But is he directly responsible for these relationships imploding on The Young and the Restless? Or are the couples to blame on their own? Let’s take a closer look.
Kyle and Claire
Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Claire (Hayley Erin) were the first ones shaken by the infamous trip to Nice. Apparently, what happens in Nice doesn’t stay in Nice.
Claire learned about Kyle and Audra’s (Zuleyka Silver) kiss. However, she still doesn’t know how intimate they got. Kyle and Audra were on the verge of sleeping together.
Now, Claire isn’t sure what to do about Kyle. While he’s her first boyfriend and first love, she feels she needs more experience with another guy who’s gotten under her skin.
As for Kyle, he’s willing to fight for Claire’s heart. (Y&R’s Michael Mealor Hasn’t Given Up On A Kyle/Claire Reunion) These two caused their own relationship issues.
Cane didn’t encourage Kyle to betray his own girlfriend, even though it happened on his train. This was due to Victor (Eric Braeden), who hired Audra to disrupt his granddaughter’s relationship.
It’s also Kyle’s fault, who thought he could pull one over Audra. But he still couldn’t stop himself from kissing her. Meanwhile, Claire’s mind games could push Kyle away.
Nate and Audra
Their relationship also imploded shortly after Claire and Kyle’s. Nate discovered Audra’s plan with Victor. He hoped that his girlfriend wouldn’t dance with The Mustache, but he should’ve known better.
Nate walked out on Audra. But in pure Audra style, she made it seem like she was done with him. Again, Cane didn’t ruin this couple.
The trust was already gone. Audra proved that she didn’t consider Nate’s needs, especially when she agreed to Victor’s seduction plot.
Billy and Sally
Now, Cane might’ve got into Billy’s (Jason Thompson) head a bit. He sucked him in with an attractive offer. Cane has access to AI software, which could potentially bring down every company in Genoa City.
Billy wanted in. He didn’t care if he cut ties with Jack (Peter Bergman) and Sally (Courtney Hope). All he had on his mind was revenge.
But Cane noticed how reckless Billy was and quickly cut ties with him. Now, his relationship with Sally is in limbo. Sure, the two made up and will move forward with their plans to live together, but Billy is bound to screw it up again.
And it’s because of his latest need to take Cane down. Who knew that Cane, not Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), would get in the middle of these two?
Michael and Lauren
Michael (Christian LeBlanc) hasn’t told his wife, Lauren (Tracy E. Bregman), the entire truth. He agreed to work with Victor again, so they could take Cane down together.
Obviously, Cane isn’t directly responsible for their marriage possibly ending. That’s all on Michael, who can’t let go of Victor for some unknown reason. And now he’s risking his marriage to help the main man in his life.
Tessa and Mariah
Mariah (Camryn Grimes) has been keeping a secret as well. She finally told Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) that she killed someone. But now, she’s leaving town and hoping that Daniel (Michael Graziadei) will keep a close eye on her.
Now, what does this have to do with Cane? He hired Holden (Nathan Owens) to keep a close eye on the Newmans, including Mariah. He might gain intel on her, which could jeopardize the chances of a Teriah reunion.
