The Golden Bachelor leading man Gerry Turner will make his debut on another reality television series, The Kardashians. During The Golden Bachelor season 1, Gerry, a 72-year-old retired restaurateur from Hudson, Indiana, found love with Theresa Nist, a 70-year-old financial services professional from Shrewsbury, New Jersey. They got engaged during the season finale, and were married on January 4, 2024 in live, televised event called The Golden Wedding. However, just three months later, Gerry and Theresa announced that they were getting a divorce because they couldn’t decide where to live because neither one of them wanted to leave their family.
According to Life & Style, Gerry will make a guest appearance on The Kardashians season 5 episode 2. During the premiere, Kendall Jenner gushed about how much she loved watching The Golden Bachelor. She invited her mother, Kris Jenner, to watch the show with her and her friends. Kim Kardashian also revealed that she was “dying” to see the show. The Kardashians season 5 premiere ended with a preview for the upcoming May 30 episode. It revealed Gerry surprising Kris and Kendall at one of their homes, giving them both hugs. Kris said, “Kendall is a huge Golden Bachelor fan.”
Although Gerry began The Golden Bachelor as a hero in many people’s eyes, he soon turned into a villain. An exposé from The Hollywood Reporter, which accused him of lying about not dating after his wife’s death, as well as his career, caused fans to lose faith in him. They doubted his true intentions, and his divorce from Theresa just three months after they got married didn’t help matters. Although it’s possible that he might end up as a contestant on Joan Vassos’ Golden Bachelorette season, Gerry should stay out of the spotlight for a while. It would be a bad idea for him to return to reality TV so soon after his divorce announcement.
Gerry’s appearance on The Kardashians seems to be just a fun cameo for Golden Bachelor fan Kendall. It would be a bad idea for him to be a contestant on Joan’s Golden Bachelorette season, even though they had a strong connection that was cut short when Joan had to return home to her family. It would make it seem as though Theresa was his second choice, which would be an insult to her so soon after they announced their divorce. Gerry would be better off keeping a low profile for now.
Gerry’s cameo on The Kardashians isn’t the first connection between The Golden Bachelor and the famous family. Kris made a video for contestant Susan Noles during “The Women Tell All.” She told her that she loved the show, and thanked all of the women for bringing everyone so much joy. She especially praised Susan for being so amazing, which brought tears to Susan’s eyes because she loves Kris and bears a striking resemblance to her. Gerry’s appearance on The Kardashians is a surprising development, but it will most likely be a sweet television moment.
