Yellowstone” fans don’t have to say goodbye to the Duttons just yet. A brand-new spinoff called “Y: Marshals” is on the way to CBS, and it puts Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) in the spotlight as he takes on a whole new life away from the ranch. The network just dropped the first photos and trailer, giving fans a look at what’s ahead.
What ‘Y: Marshals’ Is About
“Y: Marshals” picks up after the final season of “Yellowstone” and follows Kayce as he leaves behind ranching for a career with the U.S. Marshals, according to TV Line. The official description says he’ll be “combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana, where he and his teammates must balance family, duty and the high psychological cost that comes with serving as the last line of defense in the region’s war on violence.”
The teaser shows Kayce reflecting on his choices, saying he’s “changing paths” and looking for “a new beginning.” That line sets the tone for what looks like a gritty new chapter for the character. “Y: Marshals” is set to premiere on CBS sometime in 2026 as part of the network’s midseason lineup.
The Cast of ‘Y: Marshals’ May Look Familiar

Grimes isn’t going it alone. Several familiar faces from “Yellowstone” are returning, along with new characters.
Tate Dutton, Kayce and Monica’s son, will be part of the series, though Kelsey Asbille has not yet been confirmed to return as Monica. Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) is back as the powerful casino mogul and tribal leader, and his right-hand man Mo (Mo Brings Plenty) is also returning.
New to the cast is Logan Marshall-Green, who most recently appeared in “And Just Like That…” as Adam Karma. He’ll play Pete Calvin, one of Kayce’s old friends from his military days.
More ‘Yellowstone Spinoffs’ Coming
“Y: Marshals” is just one of several spinoffs tied to the “Yellowstone” universe. Paramount Network has “The Madison,” about a wealthy New York City family adjusting to life in Montana, plus “The Dutton Ranch,” which will follow Beth (Kelly Reilly), Rip (Cole Hauser), and Carter (Finn Little). Sheridan is also working on the prequel “1944” and a new series at the Four Sixes ranch in Texas.
