Stuart Fails To Save The Universe doesn’t even have its release date yet, and it’s already a much better The Big Bang Theory spinoff than Young Sheldon ever was. When The Big Bang Theory ended in 2019, the franchise continued via its very first offshoot, which tackled Sheldon’s childhood in Texas with his family.
Admittedly, Young Sheldon didn’t get quite as big as its parent series, but for the majority of its run, it was network TV’s number 1 comedy. When it was canceled, its slot was taken over by The Big Bang Theory‘s second spinoff, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. That said, Montana Jordan and Emily Osment’s show barely has any ties to the nerd-centric sitcom.
So when news of Kevin Sussman’s The Big Bang Theory spinoff came to be, it instantly piqued the interest of those who are missin Chuck Lorre’s ensemble comedy. While the show still doesn’t have any release date set yet for its upcoming HBO debut, 1 detail from it already makes it a better The Big Bang Theory spinoff than Young Sheldon.
Stuart Fails To Save The Universe’s Logo Follows TBBT’s

With work on Stuart Fails To Save The Universe now ongoing, a few behind-the-scenes snippets from the set of the show have made their way online. Most notably, co-creator Bill Prady shared a photo during a break in filming, with the image officially debuting the show’s title card. Check it out below:
As confirmed by the photo, Stuart Fails To Save The Universe‘s logo is pretty much a copy of The Big Bang Theory‘s, including the atom symbol that is used as a design element for the title cards. For context, Young Sheldon‘s logo had an entirely different appearance, as it leaned more into it being a period show set in Texas.
In fact, without its titular character, there was no indication that Young Sheldon had ties to The Big Bang Theory. Meanwhile, one look at Stuart Fails To Save The Universe and those who are familiar with the nerd-centric sitcom would immediately recognize its title card. It’s an indication that Chuck Lorre and Prady are keener on tying it to the flagship series.
Stuart Fails To Save The Universe Is In The Vein Of TBBT (Young Sheldon Was A Family Drama At Its Core)

The title card for Stuart Fails To Save The Universe solidifies the idea that it’s a better The Big Bang Theory spinoff than Young Sheldon. There are actually other elements of Sussman’s upcoming show that support the idea.
Stuart Fails To Save The Universe continues The Big Bang Theory‘s exploration of geek culture and scientific exploits. In Young Sheldon, these The Big Bang Theory cornerstones were only really tackled via Sheldon. Everyone in the Cooper family was simply not interested in both things.
By the time Young Sheldon ended, it was more of a family comedy drama than a sitcom like The BIg Bang Theory. With Stuart Fails To Save The Universe reviving the friend group dynamic, it’s poised to appeal better to those who enjoyed watching the Pasadena gang than Young Sheldon.
