Police Rush to Gordon Ramsay’s Bel Air Mansion After False Shooting Report md06

Police are reported to have swooped on Gordon Ramsey’s Bel Air mansion after a report of a shooting at the property. The celebrity chef was said to have not been at home at the time of the incident.

However, when police arrived there was no sign of any crime and it is believed Ramsey was again the target of ‘swatting’ – when someone makes an erroneous 911 call. Speaking to celebrity publication TMZ, law enforcement sources said the Los Angeles Police Department received a call at 8pm on Monday (September 23) claiming there was a shooting.

The caller is reported to have told the LAPD call handler that, armed with a black revolver, he had shot his brother – described as a chef – along with his nephew. The caller also claimed he was using heroin and was refusing to leave the house.

When officers arrived, however, they found no shooting and no one injured. Gordon is understood to be currently out of the country so was not there when cops arrived, who instead spoke to a personal assistant who was at the home.

Swatting is an ongoing problem in LA with culprits calling the police with details of a serious but bogus crime to trigger a large law enforcement response. TMZ report they have been informed there is now an ongoing investigation into who made the fake report but no arrests have yet been made.

Gordon was the victim of a similar swatting incident earlier this year when a caller falsely reported a gunman opened fire at Gordon’s Bel Air mansion. At around 8.40pm on April 22 an unknown caller made the prank call but when officers arrived, they found nothing. Again, nobody was at home and neighbours confirmed nothing had happened.

And Gordon isn’t the only celebrity to have fallen victim to swatters. Also in April, officers swarmed Nicki Minaj’s Hidden Hills home in LA following a report of a shooting that also turned out to be fake.
